Warren Bennis, one of the leading authorities on leadership in America today, states that behind every successful leader, one will typically find a second in command who is a complementary force to the leader. The new watchword for this individual is "co-leader," and leader/co-leader partnerships are spread throughout high-performance organizations that value leadership collaboration. This workshop uses a musical partnership to study and evaluate the processes related to collaborative leadership as well as creative collaboration.
John Whitlow and Marc Carraway both have extensive careers serving successfully in executive and leadership roles within private and public sector organizations. They also are highly successful musicians, having performed on a national and international level, toured extensively in the folk music world and having released seven recordings between them. For the past 27 years they have performed together as the acoustic duo Scuffletown.
Scuffletown will provide musical performances throughout this program, while also engaging participants in a discussion of how Whitlow and Carraway apply the principles of co-leadership and leadership collaboration to their musical partnership, as well as how these principles apply to developing effective leadership partnerships within the workplace.
