Tech Talk

Join us for our next Tech Talk "Exploring the Future of Space Weather Monitoring: Autonomous Observations and Magnetic Field Dynamics" on Tuesday, May 6th at 11:00.

This Tech Talk will feature Dr. Zhonghua Xu, a research scientist at SPACE@VT and the Center for Space Science and Engineering Research, housed within Virginia Tech’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. In this talk, we will explore the cutting-edge advancements in space weather monitoring and how autonomous ground-based magnetometer systems are revolutionizing geospace research. From the Arctic to Antarctica, these instruments provide critical data on magnetic field variations, helping scientists understand the interactions between solar activity and Earth’s magnetosphere. Attendees will gain insight into the importance of space weather research, its impact on technology and society, and how innovative autonomous observation systems are shaping the future of geospace science.

This event is free, open to the public, and is limited to in-person attendance (no virtual participation option is available). If you are interested in participating, please register online (https://forms.office.com/r/PnBwhveHKu) in advance. We look forward to seeing you!
