Casey Roberts
Casey M. Roberts is the Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development for VersAbility Resources, a leading provider of comprehensive services for people with disabilities of all ages in the Hampton Roads region, the ten counties on the Middle Peninsula, and beyond.
Casey was named to the position in August 2024. He has over 18 years of leadership experience in the public education and workforce development sectors, working issues at the intersection of talent/economic development, career/community readiness, technical training, and program evaluation across K-16 populations.
Prior to joining VersAbility Resources, he served as the Executive Director of New Horizons Regional Education Centers (NHREC) from 2018 to 2024. In this capacity, Casey provided strategic leadership for the largest and most comprehensive of the nine regional centers in the Commonwealth of Virginia. NHREC serves over 1,500 public school students and 1,200 adult learners per year from the six Greater Peninsula school divisions and localities and provides regional programming in career and technical education, special education, gifted education, adult training/apprenticeships, youth workforce initiatives, and family counseling services.
In the community, Casey serves on several advisory boards, including the board of directors for the Hampton Roads Workforce Council, Go Virginia Region 5 Council, Virginia STEM Education Advisory Board, Virginia Tech Newport News Center Advisory Council, and most recently served as the Board Vice Chair for VersAbility Resources.
Casey has been recognized by Inside Business as a Top 40 Under 40 Leader in Hampton Roads and was named a Millennial on the Move by the Business Magazine for Coastal Virginia (CoVaBiz). In 2023, Casey was named the Virginia Tech Influential Black Alumni Educator of the Year. He is a 2013 graduate of the LEAD Hampton Roads program and a 2022 graduate of the CIVIC Leadership Institute Executive Program. He is a current member of the Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (Beta Lambda Chapter).
Casey received a bachelor’s degree in history and leadership studies from Virginia Tech and is a graduate of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. He holds a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction from Regent University and earned an Education Specialist postgraduate degree in educational leadership and administration from The George Washington University. He is completing his doctorate in educational administration and policy studies from The George Washington University.
