Steve Cook
Steve Cook is a long-time resident of Hampton Roads currently living in Poquoson. He graduated from Christopher Newport University in 1987 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Governmental Administration. He went on to receive a Masters Degree in Urban Affairs from Virginia Tech in 1991. He is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute.
Steve has worked in economic development at the local and regional level in our area for over 20 years and is currently the Chief Innovation Officer overseeing the Business, Youth Services and Talent Alignment operations for the Hampton Roads Workforce Council. In this role, he provides leadership for strategic initiatives, partner and community relations, business and industry development, industry sector activities, and educational initiatives for the largest Workforce Development Board in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Steve is also responsible for increasing the visibility of the HRWC to all facets of our regional community.
